Ajax Amsterdam expects Eriksen to leave

Frank de Boer, the Ajax Amsterdam manager has admitted star player Christian Eriksen could leave the club this summer transfer window and admitted that he has already considered replacements for the Danish international midfielder who continues to be linked with Liverpool.

And the Dutchman has also stated that he is ready to replace the player from within the ranks rather than bring in an expensive signing. Eriksen has a contract with the club till next summer and has turned down the chance of a renewal. He has been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur in the past and AC Milan, AS Monaco, AS Roma Borussia Dortmund over the last couple of months.

And with Liverpool being continually linked with the player and the player himself stating that he would be open to a move abroad, especially in England this summer, the Ajax Amsterdam has already earmarked replacements to take over from the Danish international, who is himself a product of the famed youth academy of the club.

According to the former Barcelona defender, it is not possible for the club to go out and splash the cash to bring in a player of a similar quality to Eriksen, and hence, they will turn to their academy graduates to phase into the team. He has also named a few players as the likely replacements for the player from the famed academy of the club.

De Boer made it clear last month that he expected the player to leave the club before the transfer window slams shut on the 2nd of September and according to the Ajax Amsterdam manager, it is up to the player where he wants to play his football and if he thinks Liverpool is the place, then he will leave with the best wishes of the club.
