VDS BACKS MOYES

David Moyes has not enjoyed the best of season starts after going through a number of disappointing results in the Premier League after losing against teams such as Liverpool, West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United just to name a few of the opponents that managed to claim a triumph against Manchester United.

Those results have left Manchester United in the middle section of the Premier League standings as they are 8 points behind the table toppers Liverpool and Arsenal. Their hopes on retaining and protecting the league title just keeps on getting further and further away.

The former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar is still hopeful that Moyes can turn things around and that all what the Scottish tactician needs is time.

“I think it will take some changes and take a while maybe,” he said at the UEFA Champions League draw, which had United paired up with Olympiacos.

“Alex Ferguson has been there for 26 years and you’re not going to change that straightaway. It will be a good opportunity for them in the next round in the Champions League and some games over Christmas to get some good results.”

Manchester United arguably had the best result during the UEFA Champions League last 16 draw as they have to face off against Olympiacos a squad that seems to be less complicated than all the other remaining teams in the European competition.

Van der Sar spent 6 years at Old Trafford and he knows that it takes any manager a decent amount of time to get adapted to the new players and new club that he will be in charge of as the Dutch goalkeeper said that Moyes just needs more time to settle in and the results will eventually arrive.
