JOHNSTONE REVEALS AJAX BOSS’ KIND GESTURE

West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has narrated how Ajax chief executive, Edwin Van Der Sar paid a fine for him during his time at Manchester United. Edwin Van Der Sar was a former goalkeeper for Premier League teams Fulham and Manchester United. Edwin Van Der Sar also played for Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam and the Dutch national team. Edwin Van Der Sar went into football administration after he hung up his gloves and the Dutchman is the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) at Ajax Amsterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie. According to West Brom shot stopper Sam Johnstone, Edwin Van Der Sar showed his kind gesture by paying the fine on his behalf after he was punished for a swollen thumb. Sam Johnstone was at Manchester United back then and he was fined for his failure to wear thumb support. The goalkeepers were told to wear thumb support always to prevent injury but a young Sam Johnstone had forgotten his at home on the said day.
